You know it’s ironic. My older brother is a total hetero-queen. The boots he wears have 3″ heels and he bought them because they click when he walks, he uses a hair iron, he wears ass tight jeans, he L-O-V-E-S fashion, oh, and he loves women. I know, I thought he was gay too, but au contraire. He’s just femme!

McMenamins Buys Old Silverado/Club Portland Building

Photo: JustOut.comThough the dance-happy queens from the “old Silverado” or doped-up dudes lounging in their birthday suits have only been gone from the building less than a year, Portland powerhouse pub factory McMenamins announced today it has purchased the old Silverado/Club Portland complex location at the corner of SW 12th and Stark Street, a longtime infamous corner of Portland’s fast-gentrifying “gay district,” Southwest Stark Street, and plans to open an as-yet-unnamed hotel and restaurant in the renovated building as early as winter of 2009.

Domestic Partnership Case More About Statistics And Samples

The new law allowing same sex couples to establish domestic partnerships was in front of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Oregon.

Or, more precisely, judges heard about an attempt to refer that law to the ballot, using Oregon’s referendum system. And as Rob Manning reports, the arguments weren’t really about gay rights — they were about the rights of people who sign election petitions.

(AP) — Oregon’s domestic partnership law came under legal fire again Tuesday, as opponents tried to persuade three judges from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that elections officials had wrongly disqualified the issue from the November ballot.
