Is David Archuleta Gay?
Is David Archuleta Gay? Chances are that he will never come out. Even though he tips my gaydar beyond the questionable mark, I guess I have to look at the actual, real, ya know…empirical evidence.
First off…he is only 17. I know that times have changed and it is MUCH easier to be out and young. However, statistics still support that most people do not come out until their college years or beyond. Despite the fact that he is an A student at his high school, David is not going to have college years. He will be singing and performing from now until he collapses from exhaustion in about twenty years.
That is not to say that he is not gay. It only means that he is starting down the path of superstardom as a cuddly cute teen and there is not a handler in the world who will let him come out and deny his marketability to Hannah Montana teeny boppers.
Second off…he is Mormon. There are, of course, gay Mormons, but they don’t come out.
So…what does this all mean? Well…comments on Rickey.org make a good point that David may simply be this year’s Clay Aiken (they have similar singing styles.) That means that he will do well far into the competition and that he will grow into Simon’s targeted punching bag (as Clay was.) Simon Cowell is a famous homophobe who often asserts that American Idol is a singing competition while making comments about a competitors image.
Is David Archuleta gay? I think he may be. Will he ever come out? Nope. Will ALL of us enjoy some great music in the meantime? Yep.
Now..before all of you people start telling me that I should mind my own business and leave David alone, please understand that ME wondering if someone is GAY is a compliment to that person. We need more out, gay, fabulous people. Should I just leave David alone and let him sing? Of course. Am I really bothering him? I doubt it.

It’s so great to live at a time when it really is o.k. to be gay. Especially with the younger generation. There isn’t the stigma attached like it was back in the 70’s and early 80’s. I really do wish more celebrities would come out and be role models for younger people who may be struggling…
I honestly think he’s gay… and i really don’t think he’ll become as big of a star than the other idols… anyways… we all know he’s not gonna win nthe title and we’d all forget him next year … i justhope he’d come out ASAP coz there is no harm in that… we’re in same situation (the religion thing) it’s gonna be hard…. if he’s coming out… then i will too…
yah…i also think he’s a gay…from the first time i saw him at the audition..i have that feeling..hahaha….. but also i know that he will never come out..of course,more of his fans are girls!!yipeeee!!!hahaha….and it is a big disaster if he will..hahaha

I think we will all agree he can sing .. gay or not. I would love for him to be gay and out if for no other reason than to inspire other youth who are ready to come out but too afraid to do so. I am way too old (48) to think of David in sexual terms but I can certainly say I would be very proud indeed if he were my son, little brother or nephew.
He has a voice that speaks to me. He has the look and affect that makes me melt and feel good and realize there are some good things in this world.
But alas, IF he is, he will certainly not come out anytime soon. The Mormons will be furious and that I would love to see! But the truth simply put is the fact if he comes out too soon, his career will be effected.
So, calling all gay and lesbian brothers and sisters. VOTE FOR DAVID .. let’s make him our idol !!!
Oh, by the way, WAY TO GO CALIFORNIA !!! If I had a boyfriend, I would be on the plane tomorrow to get married !!!
I love david archuleta. I don’t care what his preference is. and i will never forget him! his very talented… He is a star for millions of people who voted him. Let us not be judgmental. though I’m guilty that i really lke him so much, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt. He is still young! don’t provoke him…maybe he is still confuse. His voice is a certified masculine though he shows feminity.

I definitely think he is, but who’s to say that’s a bad thing? Being a mormon will definitely keep him from saying anything about it, but nothing needs to be said really. He’s a freaking awesome singer [this is coming from a straight guy] and whether he likes guys or not, so what. I think he is, but you never know, he might just end up marrying Hannah Montana or something.

No, he is NOT GAY. Sorry. David somewhat appears to have had
a Michael Jackson season during his early years as a child. His parents saw the talent in their child and encouraged and guided
his talent as any parent would who has child with major talent.
Not only did they guide him, the also protected him. Sometimes
when a parent witnesses their child as extrordinary in talent.
They will protect that child’s well being to avoid any hinderances
in their investment to their child’s talent. Managing your child
is very time consuming, tedious as well as sacrificial to the parent’s
lives. They live to help their child live their dream and they should
because that is what is expected of parents. We encourage them
academcially to the same degree of their talent and should be no different.
This has probably limited David socially as far as hanging out with the guys or brother and friends. His world was and is music where there was probably no time for seeing others as male mentors other than his dad. This tends to make one shy in front of
others in a circle he is unaccustomed to.
These days, he is breaking out of his shell on stage as he feels the
love from his fans. I personally have seen him show interest in a
fan (female) as he signed autographs after the staples concert.
When he says he is too young for a relationship. He means it and
smart he is to not want to go through mental and emotional anquish that would lead a major star to destruction that most
hollywood relationships end up in. Very smart indeed. His love is
music. That’s his girlfriend right now. He wants a relationship but
with someone with good character and integrity who loves God.
I know it is difficult for a gay man to keep his eyes of him. He is
gorgeoous! We need to respect him as a 17 year old child or
little brother and accept the fact that he has a mature voice for
his age. Be proud of this young man for who he is and what he
wants in life. He is a phenom in music and should be acknowledged for it. There are a lot of men out there who are just as gorgeous
and have been mistreated for that and labeled gay because they
have a feminine outlook. This does not define the person for who
he or she is
So please don’t judge and expect how you want t see him because you wish him to be in your world. It’s not going to happen. He loves
God and family too much and knows the consequences. Sorry.
